Enjoy Gluten Free Pasta
When you are looking for gluten free pasta, you will notice that many of the pastas that are available at the
grocery store are made from wheat or other gluten forming ingredients that are restricted by a gluten free diet.
Planning a menu for a gluten free diet can seem bland at times, particularly, if you think that you need to
restrict the plentiful non-gluten free pasta from your diet.
Not All Pasta Is Alike
If you have a problem digesting gluten, depending on the ingredients that the pasta is made from, the pasta may be
so indigestible to you that you cannot eat the bowl of spaghetti that is being offered to you. Such a delicious
meal yet it can feel out of reach when you live with the food restrictions of a gluten free diet.
Maybe you cannot eat all pastas and that is okay because there are alternative gluten free pasta types that you can
enjoy with your gluten free pasta sauces. The ingredient types that are used to make gluten free pasta include
amaranth, corn, millet, quinoa, rice, buckwheat and legume. Pasta is such a popular food that you can find a
variety of gluten free ingredients being used to make pasta.
Favorite Pasta Dishes
You can still enjoy your favorite pasta sauces too because instead of choosing a pasta sauce thickened with a wheat
flour or other gluten forming flour, you can make or choose a pasta sauce that have been thickened with potato
starch or other starches or flours such as amaranth, arrowroot, buckwheat, corn, cornstarch, flax, legume, millet,
quinoa, rice, sago, sorghum, soy, sweet potato flour, tapioca and teff.
You can still enjoy pasta when you have restricted food choices because of a gluten free diet because there are
delicious gluten free pasta dishes you can make that are suitable for any menu type. You will have to try the
different types of gluten free pasta so that you can find your favorite brand that provides the flavor and texture
that you want from your gluten free pasta alternative. You can also find gluten free sauces and sauce mixes to add
to your sauces if you do not have the time to make your own gluten free pasta sauce.
Living with a gluten free diet does not necessarily mean you are restricted in flavor, texture or pasta. You can
create or make the gluten free choices for your diet that include great pasta and pasta sauces. Enjoy your favorite
pasta dishes when you include gluten free pasta and sauces in your diet.
